Nan Gyi Thoke
နန်းကြီးသုပ်Thick round rice noodles tossed with chicken curry, onion and spring onion, topped with a boiled egg.

Burmese noodle salads, home-style curries and milk tea poured the Yangon way. On 45B Street in Naif, Deira, for more than twenty-five years.

Rangoon Tea House opened in 1999 and has been part of Naif ever since. People come in for a plate of nan gyi thoke at lunch, a curry with rice after work, or just a glass of tea and a samosa on the stools outside.
The menu travels a little too: Thai soups and salads, Chinese-style starters, and burgers for anyone who wants one. Eat in, take away, or call ahead and collect.
Burmese milk tea is strong black tea with condensed and evaporated milk, and every regular has a way they like it. Pick one, then say it at the counter.
The regular. Strong, sweet and creamy in equal measure.
Look for the big kettle on the wooden sign.
